How Much Does It Cost to Reline a Sewer Drain?

When people hear that their pipes are damaged and need replacing, one of their first thoughts is how much of their garden is going to get destroyed in the process – whether it is their beloved vegie patch or the new driveway.

Luckily, here at Jetset Plumbing, our plumbers are trained in the least invasive technique known as pipe relining.

What is Pipe Relining?

The first thing our plumbers will do is use a CCTV drain camera to inspect the pipes and see what is blocking the drains and what the extent of the damage is. Next, they will use their high-pressure water jetters to remove any and all obstructions. The CCTV drain camera will then go back down to see precisely where the damage lies and what will need to be done to remedy it.

This stage is what sets this process apart from other inferior techniques. A WaterMark Approved drain liner that is coated in a special resin is inserted into the pipe and a bladder inflates to seal the lining against the inside of the pipe. Once the liner is cured and hardened, the bladder is removed, and you have a new pipe that is stronger than the original without having to dig up your whole garden!

What is the Cost?

This is always a difficult question to answer when people call in over the phone and try to nail down a ballpark figure for relining pipes. An idea of the price can only be made and assessed when a plumber is physically standing on your property and determining what needs to be done, how it needs to be done and with what tools and equipment, over what period of time.

Each plumbing project and pipe relining is like climbing a new mountain, where no one has climbed before and so no one can so exactly how to get there. Our plumbing professionals are seasoned and have gathered much experience on what seems to be almost the same project BUT there are always new elements and surprises that need to be tackled along the way.

What Are the Benefits?

5 Reasons You May Need An Inversion Reline

Minimal Disruption

If you are someone that prides yourself on your landscaping and the time it has taken to cultivate your plants, flowers and trees – then this will be one of the biggest benefits to you.

The investment of money and time alone into creating a beautiful garden no longer needs to be destroyed with excavators.

Safer for Everyone

Whenever there is heavy machinery such as excavators moving around, there will always be a greater threat to the occupants of a residence. Large holes and debris can also be difficult to move around, especially as works can take up to a week on some of the bigger jobs.

Pets, children and the elderly are placed at higher risk, so why not opt for pipe relining as it poses none of the threats stated above.

Cost Effective

Over time, the cost of relining your pipes compared to the traditional method of replacing wins any time.

Not only do you end up with a brand-new pipe that is often stronger than your original pipe, it is also impenetrable by tree roots – the same cannot be said for standard replacement pipes.
